New Jersey Certified Interior Designer

Richard R. Barr literally grew up in the kitchen. His grandfather was a chef and he learned an early appreciation for the joys of cooking and the pleasures of sharing a meal with family and friends. He was also exposed to the practical aspects of an efficient, functional kitchen—a sensibility he brings to every design project.

Richard's formal design training began at Purdue University where he earned a B.S. in Environmental Design with an emphasis on business management. Upon graduation, he went to work as an interior designer and broadened his knowledge by studying architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Richard says his expertise and passion for custom cabinetry and woodwork can be traced back to his family tree. A beautiful tree he notes that included artists, teachers, a chef, an engineer and even a cabinet maker. Along with having some great mentors, and being in the right spot at the right time, it was all just meant to be!

While his career has encompassed all facets of interior design, including the operation of his own design firm in the 1990's, Richard's passion and appreciation for custom cabinetry brought him back to his ultimate specialty. Whether it's transforming an outdated kitchen, building a new luxury bath or other interior space, Richard's experience, knowledge and design ability are bringing people's dreams to reality.
